Magdalena Skizm at Caledon
For years, my daughter has been a member of a few of the virtual worlds out there, including IMVU; There.com, (which recently closed, much to her chagrin); and Second Life. She has hounded me for years to try them, but unfortunately, my old computer couldn’t handle the software.
That was then…this is now. I have a new computer with better hardware and she finally talked me into becoming a member of Second Life about 2 weeks ago, and I have been so hooked on it, I can barely think of anything else! I even DREAM ABOUT IT! Aaaahhh! But I am having so much FUN!
I’m still trying to learn the basics, but each day I learn a little more and pretty soon, I think I’ll be ready to do some heavy-duty role playing.
It has been ages since my days of role playing, (mainly Dungeons & Dragons), and things have really come a long way. Oh how I wish we’d had something like Second Life to use during our campaigns back then. It would have been so cool.

I like the concept of Second Life. I think that the first two years it was around it was absolutely amazing. I only wish they had not got into the trouble they are in now where they are unable to effectively evolve the graphics, motion, physics and controls for it. Its all virtuality is still at the level of the first PS2 games.
I would actually love if they could have the virtuality of the late XBOX one (or even the very same PS2 ones) games at least.
Yep, you are right. I was just saying that same thing last night. If they ever do have the virtuality of the XBOX, I will never, ever leave it! (Maybe it’s a GOOD thing that I get tired of the lag).
Yeah, the graphics of MGS3 or RE4 and i would be also hooked into it too.
