I’m really getting worried about the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. I have very little trust in the powers that be in the first place, and I have been doing my own research into this and I feel that we are not being told everything about it. Not even close. I’m not going to get into it much today, as we have graduation festivities coming up this evening, but one thing I wanted to mention is from this article from The New York Times that states:

BP has resisted entreaties from scientists that they be allowed to use sophisticated instruments at the ocean floor that would give a far more accurate picture of how much oil is really gushing from the well.

“The answer is no to that,” a BP spokesman, Tom Mueller, said on Saturday. “We’re not going to take any extra efforts now to calculate flow there at this point. It’s not relevant to the response effort, and it might even detract from the response effort.”

Well, why not, Mr. BP Spokesman? That just seems a little fishy to me, and I believe they are trying to hide something. But what? And why? I will be doing much more research on this and reporting my findings here, so stay tuned.
