If you are a freelance web designer of if you are running a best web design firm of your own, here are some tips for you to design a business website wisely. If you are working of a business website these days, keep following things in mind.

Company’s Business Goal Should Be Visible On Your Website

Keep the goals of the company in your mind and then design a website for your company. The common goals of all companies are to generate lead and increase the revenues. Every single entity on your website should play its role in the attainment of these goals. Emphasize on

  • The overall presentation of the website

  • The placement of information

  • The content of website

  • The graphics and pictorial presentation

Keep The Users In Mind

You have to create a website according to the users. Keep yourself in the place of a user and then see how you should be designing it. If the site is confusing him or takes time in loading, users are more likely to skip the site. This will increase the bounce rate only.

Professionalism

The designing of the website should not be in contradiction to the overall image of the company. For example, if the website is for an event management company and you use only dull colors like black and brown, all your efforts would fail. Use beautiful colors, indicating life, fun, decency and use more and more slogans, tagline and call to action statements.

Increase the conversion rate

Make sure that your site increases the rate of conversion, because it is the purpose for which you are making the site. You can enhance the conversion rate by adding the conversion buttons on your website. Add the buttons of “click here” “get a quote”, “get started now”, “what are you waiting for”, and other call to action statements through one click. Do not make the process too complex otherwise, users will get irritated, and they will leave the page.

Keep these basic tips in mind and make a simple yet unique website. Keep in mind uniqueness is simplicity!

The content that you add to your web pages is always the most important factor in SEO and attracting visitors, but you should not neglect adding images also. There is always a place for good images as part of your blog posts, and it can actually help with SEO, when used correctly.

It is actually good practice to add one or two images to your blog posts, however they need to be put in the right places, aligned correctly and have the correct tags added to them. All of this can be done from your blogging software, such as WordPress or blogger.

There are many reasons to use blog images, with the most obvious being the sheer impression that it gives to users when they load your website. A good image will help to improve an ordinary blog post, and attract more attention to your blog copy. This can then help them to stay longer on your website and read more of your copy.

Besides this, images can help to break up larger chunks of text on your blog. This is a great use of images as it helps people to browse and scan more of the text, before going back to read in more detail. Big blocks of text don’t encourage people to read your blog posts, as it seems to imposing and too much effort.

Images can also be used to help explain certain points that are being made in your blog post. As you know, images and illustrations can explain things that text simply can’t. People enjoy visualizing things so having a well fitting image with your blog post is very useful.

There are also SEO reasons for using images. Always remember to use the alt tags when you are including images in your blog. It is important to name the images with your keywords as this will improve your on page SEO score. It is important to add the tags so you can increase your optimization. This can all be done from the backend of your blog software.

With Google’s new algorism changes, the images are becoming more important they are now listed in the main search results. This means that it is more important than ever to have images in your blog posts and ensure that the alt tags are used to the maximum.

Images can be found from many sources online, and they are very cheap to purchase. Ensure that you use images in all your blog posts from now on.

Groupon has been growing and expanding rapidly in a world hit hard by recessions and economic woes.  The deal-of-the-day coupon website offers its users local deals and keeps them up to date with any discounts or specials that are going on in their geographical location.  But it’s how the company uses its user’s information that has some privacy groups up in arms.  With their growing technology to match a growing user base, Groupon is starting to evolve in how it uses the information it has about us to show us those deals.

For instance, a representative from Groupon has talked about a possible future use of Groupon where you may be walking by a restaurant, and the website automatically sends you a message to let you know about a deal going on at that very restaurant.   While this sounds like it would be a very cool use of technology and also very convenient, it’s also a little creepy.  We all love to use GPS (Global Positioning Software) to tell us where we are or where we need to go, but when companies with deep pockets start tracking our whereabouts so they can tell us where to eat, shop, and play, it becomes a bit of a privacy issue.

But the most serious part of Groupon’s privacy issues is how the company interacts and exchanges information with its partners.  After all, these are private companies that all want your business, and any pieces of information that you have shared privately with Groupon have the possibility of ending up in another company’s hands.  It was just at the beginning of 2011 that there was a breach of this kind of information from a third party marketer.

Groupon does claim that it is growing so fast that problems like these are bound to come up but that it is constantly making the privacy of its users a main priority.  But the company has recently made changes to its privacy policy that allow them to have even more liberty with the distribution of your information.  Whether you knew it or not, this is already being done and partners like Expedia have taken the liberty to share your private data with other affiliates and websites.  You see, once Groupon has your information you may think it’s perfectly secure.  But if they have decided to partner up with other websites and companies this information can no longer be locked down to just one company, and it’s almost impossible to tell where it may end up.

Location tracking has become the biggest eye-opener in realms of privacy that has also opened this can of worms we call privacy.  And with ever-changing technology, getting a solid grasp on your privacy is becoming more difficult.  Just be aware that anytime you reveal personal information online, it has the potential to end up somewhere else, and unless you have the proper protection in place, it could lead to a more serious breach of your private information.

Just because a file is deleted by your computer, it probably still exists. In essence, the computer simply deletes the file from the computers table of contents making the space it occupies available to other software. In large hard drives, it is not uncommon to recover files that were deleted a year or more earlier.

As a private investigator and computer forensics specialist, I often find myself in situations where I need up to the date information very quickly without alerting the subject to his or her computer being the target of an investigation.

Key Logger

All though computer forensics is seen as an “after the fact” activity, many times the activity is still being perpetrated and can be documented with a key logger.

I prefer to use a USB key logger that runs in the background and does not install any software on the computer, but actually runs from the USB drive. It’s perfect for PC towers where there are multiple USB ports in the back of the computer.

The key logger records every key stroke of the keyboard and is great for monitoring chats, emails, web activity, and all other user interactions. More than once, I have busted an unfaithful spouse with this technique.

SMS Card Reader

Computer forensics does not just apply to your laptop or desktop. Your phone is a high tech computer with different forms of memory. I will not bore you with how memory works, however your phone probably has deleted text messages and other data for an extended period of time.

SMS card reader software allows you to read the contents of the sim card through a USB drive. The software will provide you with the phone book and other data stored on the card. Often times, you can find the incriminating evidence you need right on the sim card.

Unfortunately, that is not always possible and more extensive forensics is required to read the memory on a phone. It is actually best if you can capture the memory of the phone without ever turning it off, but that is not always possible.

The Porn Stick

Paraben’s Porn Stick is a great choice for HR people or parents that want to know what is being viewed on a computer. It comes pre-loaded on a USB stick, so just plug in the device and run the software.

The porn stick analyzes all images on the hard drive, that have headers, for shapes and other details that give porn away. With only a 1% false positive rate, you will not have to spend hours looking through images to determine if they are pornographic.

The only downfall to the Porn Stick, is that savvy computer users can hide their tracks by downloading images as other types of files. If the file header meta data does not identify the image as an image, it won’t be found or analyzed. If you are trying to catch a cyber-criminal, this is probably not your best bet.

Twitter is no longer regarded as a flash in the pan, it is a genuinely successful social networking platform, following in the footsteps of Facebook and approaching adoption of one hundred million. Like Facebook, Twitter is important, not just in terms of social cohesion, but also from a business point of view. In fact Twitter is arguably more business friendly than Facebook and is fast becoming a must for any modern, self respecting business. Since social networking as a marketing tool is such a time consuming practice, numerous tools have been developed to aid in the networking building, account maintenance and identifying peers.

The great thing is that most of these tools are totally free of charge, meaning there is no obligation to keep using them of they are not working for you. Many of these tools are also available as web or desktop applications, so they needn’t take up precious memory on your system. Here are five of the most useful Twitter tools for business.

  1. TweetDeck

This is the ‘must have’ Twitter tool for business. Using Tweetdeck means that you won’t need to use the Twitter web platform as everything is aggregated in this neat web app. Tweetdeck has tonnes of functionality including auto URL shorteners and the ability to post to multiple social platforms at once.

  2.

  3. Twitter Feed

Twitter feed is a great tool if you lack the time to keep your account updated. This has the function to paste in RSS feeds, which will then  publish to your Twitter account each time they are updated. The perfect companion for the lazy Twitter user!

  4.

  5. Tweet Adder

Tweet Adder is the best tool out there for finding people to follow bar-none. Simply enter keywords related to your niche and Tweet Adder will automatically follow people with those keywords in their bio.

  6.

  7. Follwerwonk

This is another tool for finding people in your niche, a bit like a search engine for Twitter users. Simply type one or more keywords into the search box to help you find individuals that could be of interest to you.

  8.

  9. TweetCloud

It’s all very well finding people that seem relevant to you, but what do they really tweet about? TweetCloud allows you to enter a Twitter username and determine what they tweet about most, as well as the users they commonly interact with, displayed in a word cloud.
