I really love my job. I get introduced to so many products that I never knew existed. This past weekend, we were executing what they called the “Citrus Extravaganza” event and both days I demonstrated those little Clementine oranges. All I can say is “WOW!” They are absolutely the best oranges I’ve ever tasted! I, just now, have sat here and eaten 4 of them, (I’m full now, thanks).
I don’t know why I had never heard of them before. Perhaps because in the past I’ve done my shopping at places like Save-A-Lot and Superama that don’t carry things like that. But since I’ve been doing product demonstration at Walmart, I’ve seen a lot of items that I never knew existed, like tuna in a box. What? Yes, you heard me right, tuna in a box!
Anyway, I just wanted to let you guys know about Clementines and next time you’re at Walmart, grab you a bag of them. They’re so delish!
Hey guys! Well, 2010 has finally rolled around. Can you believe it? I sure hope you all had a wonderful holiday season, and made many cool memories with your loved ones and friends. Frankly, The Browns are happy it’s over with – even though we did enjoy them, and it was nice to have some time off to relax – it’s just nice when things get back to normal.
The new year has finally arrived, but thinking back to this time last year, it truly seems like only a few months ago. Ya know how when you’re a kid, your parents and grandparents say things that don’t make sense to you at the time, but then when you’re older it finally registers? Well, it has finally kicked in what my MawMaw was talking about when she said, “the older you get, the faster the years go by.” I swear each year seems to be getting shorter and shorter for me now. It kinda scares me, because I am now what you call “middle-aged” (ugh) and I fear the next half of my life will go by in the blink of an eye!
Anyway, nevermind that. I have other things to discuss here besides getting old. I don’t really like making New Year’s resolutions, because I never adhere to any of them anyway, so what is the point? But in 2010, I will try to set reasonable goals for myself, and hopefully, I will follow through and meet at least some of them. I won’t bore you to death by listing all of them here. I’ll just touch on the few that I want to share with you.
First, I want to get this blog rolling along, and post regularly, or at least semi-regularly. Now that I have a real job and I don’t live on the internet anymore, I need to be as productive as I can and make good use of what little time I have online. I want to connect and interact with other bloggers like I used to a few years ago. I ran across some very nice people back then. Most of them have moved on from my life, but there are still a few I keep in contact with at various social networks.
My goal is to get back to my blogging networks, (MyBlogLog, Technorati, BlogCatalog, etc.), and maybe even join a few new ones, like NetworkedBlogs at Facebook (which I joined yesterday). I intend to visit 5 to 15 blogs per day, (however many time allows), and leave a comment, but only when I have something relevant to say. This is a great way to find interesting writers. If you’ve never done this, you should try it, because you can meet some cool people this way, and you never know, you may even strike up some genuine friendships along the way. And besides that, it’s fun.
Back in 2007, I got distracted from networking with bloggers by trying different methods of making money online. Soon, my blogging friends were put on the back burner, and sadly, after a while, they became only a memory. After working my butt off for two years online, the recession hit, and I was forced to go out and get a real job – which, by the way, has turned out very well for me, so I am not complaining! Having this job has taken a world off my shoulders. It is not easy making money online. It can be very stressful and time-consuming, and I’m oh-so-happy to be doing something different. But I digress,
My point is that now, when I’m online, I don’t feel the constant need to be finding a money-making opportunity and I can actually enjoy the internet. And I can get back to blogging for fun again, and not blogging for money. So that is what I’m going to do, because it makes me happy.
The next goal is an extremely important one. Diet. Last summer, I was informed that my cholesterol was dangerously high, so I had to make a drastic change in my diet. I thought it would be difficult for me, and I guess it was at first. But after a while, I adjusted and now I’m fine with it. Plus, I’m a few pounds lighter, so that’s nice too. My goal is to stick with this diet, and try to exercise everyday. Since the cold weather and holidays set in, I have slacked off on both diet and exercise, and I need to get more serious about it. My goal is to eat healthy, walk everyday, and try to get a gym membership soon, so I can get back in good shape.
Those are the few goals I wanted to share here. I may share more with you in a later post. But I’m sure you’re getting tired of reading, so I will end it here———->.
The media really had all of us Southern folks freaked out, warning us that we had an “arctic storm” headed our way. Just about all of Tennessee shut down in preparation of this event. I fully expected to wake up this morning and find the van buried in a snow drift. But, when I looked out the window, there was no snow! However, by the time I left for work, it had begun to snow. After a few hours, Charlie went out and got some cool shots. I love the ones of Jareth. He’s such a beautiful cat! Enjoy.
